I️ used to feel like I️ wasn’t getting a good workout unless I️ was physically in a gym…and then I️ had kids. I️ was working full-time in an office after my first daughter was born, and that left little time to focus on my workouts with the small amount of time I️ had available in the evenings. Not to mention I️ was nursing and pumping around the clock to keep my supply up…but I️ digress! A friend of mine from college shared an at-home workout program with me and I️ jumped right in. At this time, there was no streaming service, so I️ purchased the program on Blu-Ray and did this workout in my living room for many, many months on repeat.

I️n conjunction with running outside, I️ continued to do these workouts and then, one day, they finally announced they were introducing a streaming service for workouts. I️ signed up right away and have since tried a variety of workouts and can vouch for how many calories you can burn with an at-home workout!
As a fitness junkie, I️ like a variety of workouts and sometimes enjoy the camaraderie I️ get from working out with others. So, over time and as my schedule has allowed, I️’ve added studio and gym workouts back into my repertoire as well. Fortunately, most of these workouts can also be done from home when necessary, so I️ thought I️ would share a list of my favorite at-home workout programs for anyone needing to break a sweat while cooped up in the house!
My Favorite At-Home Workout Programs
Beachbody On Demand – I️ have a subscription to this one and it’s worth every penny! There is a library of years and years worth of Beachbody programs to stream. My favorites include Insanity (great if you have no equipment but want to burn lots of calories!), 21 Day Fix Extreme and LIIFT4.
Pure Barre On Demand – You guys know my love of Pure Barre runs deep. I️ will be honest, I️ much prefer an in-studio workout for PB, as I️ get a better mind-body connection that way. However, when I️ need a workout in a pinch and can’t leave my house, I️ love streaming a barre workout with the app! If you’re a current PB member, you get PB on Demand for free right now. You can also sign up directly through the app for a monthly streaming subscription.
Burn Boot Camp – I️ fell in love with Burn over the past few months and I️’ve gone to camps basically every weekday since December. But now that we are at home, I️’m so grateful that the BBC crew is doing live stream workouts each day so we can continue to get a great workout! I️’ve done two so far and burned the same number of calories I️ would in the studio, so I️ call that a win! If you’re an existing BBC member, these live streams are available to you – and if you’re not, you can sign up for a 14-day trial.
Tone It Up – I️ credit Tone It Up for getting me into great shape for my wedding day and they have great, attainable workouts. The TIU girls have come so far since then and now have an app, supplements, workout gear and more! Right now, you can sign up and get free workouts for a month!
Pvolve – I️ did a free trial of Pvolve when I️ started to work out again after having Brynn, and I️ loved how effective yet low-impact these workouts are. Right now, you can sign up for 30 days of free workouts!
Peloton – Pretty sure Peloton is a household name after that infamous commercial over the holidays. If you have a Peloton bike or treadmill, there are workouts specifically for that equipment – but they also have other workouts that can be done without equipment (or with just hand weights). Right now, you can try the Peleton app free for 90 days!
Sweat App – Kayla Itsines has some pretty hardcore workouts, so if you’re looking to get in great shape, definitely try the Sweat app! I️’ve dabbled in these workouts and can definitely say they’re challenging.
Other At-Home Workout Programs
There are a million more at-home workout programs to choose from and I️’ve heard great things about so many of them. There’s essentially a workout for any personality type, so you can certainly find one that works for you. Most offer free trials, so that’s a great time to gauge how well you like it before committing!
