For the time being, I️ think Meal Plan Monday will be on the back burner because with the current state of affairs, it’s very challenging to actually meal plan! We’ve had issues finding our normal groceries, especially meat, so it sounds like meal planning will be a very REactive thing vs. my usual PROactive approach for now. With that said, I️ thought I️’d share what’s on all of our minds right now – what are the best Netflix shows to binge-watch with all of the time we’ll be spending at home?! I️’m no expert, as we haven’t started many new Netflix shows in a while, but we’ve been through a bunch of favorites thus far (some several times through!).

Best Netflix Shows To Watch
Ozark

This show took me by surprise when we first started watching it. I️ totally didn’t think it would be up my alley, but we were basically hooked after the first episode! It has a lot of surprising twists and turns and most episodes are pretty action-packed – it’s not the type of show with a lot of ‘filler’ content and one twist at the end of the season…you can expect craziness throughout the entire show.
House of Cards

I️’m a political junkie (Poli Sci major over here), but I️ have honestly never gotten into political dramas…UNTIL House of Cards! Literally best show ever. I️ am so sad Kevin Spacey screwed up and brought the show to an end. It truly wasn’t the same without him in the last season! But seriously, this show is binge-worthy, and there were many nights we stayed up WAY too late because we just couldn’t turn it off.
New Girl

This is an oldie (I️ remember watching the beginning of New Girl right around the time we got engaged in 2011!), but such a feel-good show. If you want something happy to watch, I️ would highly suggest this show. I️t’s a lighthearted comedy but still has a bit of drama, if that’s your thing. It’s just a funny and awkward show and we’ve watched it probably 4 times through from start to finish.
The Good Place

This is another one that we started on a whim and got hooked in immediately. This show is not only funny, but makes you think and has some great twists and turns! I️’m anxiously awaiting the 4th and final season to arrive on Netflix.
Gossip Girl

I️ actually wasn’t all that into Gossip Girl when it first premiered – my college roommates watched it every week, but I️ just didn’t let myself get hooked on another show (I️ was already obsessed with Desperate Housewives during this time). I️ started watching this show several years after it first started and caught up so I️ could finish the last few seasons in real-time. It’s a good easy-watching show and is filled with lots of silly drama.
You

So we only got to the end of the first season of this one, but it was relatively interesting. I️ wouldn’t say it was my favorite show ever, but it piqued my interest enough to keep watching. Plus, Dan from Gossip Girl is the lead character! My husband just didn’t love it enough, so we haven’t started the second season – I️ always have good intentions of watching it during naptime, but I️ end up getting busy with cleaning the house or blogging instead!
Dead to Me

This was another one of those on a whim shows that captivated us enough to binge the whole season. I️ think they could have done a lot more to make it more dramatic and suspenseful, but it was still an easy show to sit down and watch. I️ love pretty much any show that has some sort of murder mystery involved (hello, Dateline!)…not sure what that says about me. HA!
Workin’ Moms

This is an *interesting* show, to say the least. There are some shockingly funny parts, which is why we kept watching. But I️ will forewarn you that every episode takes a dark turn in the last 10-15 minutes of the episode and that’s the only thing we aren’t crazy about. It’s like half of the episode is crude mom humor that is entirely relatable, but then the last half can get awkward and uncomfortable with the topics that come up.
Nailed It!, Sugar Rush, The Great British Baking Show

Basically any baking show is an easy-to-watch option, plus you can watch it with kids. Pretty much all of the other shows are adult-only, which limits your opportunity to watch them now that the kids are home from school all day long! PS – I️ know this isn’t on Netflix, but the Kids’ Baking Championship on Hulu is my girls’ favorite baking show.
There are a ton of shows on Netflix that I️’ve heard great things about, and I️’ll probably be giving a few of them a test run over the next few weeks. But for now, my list above includes all of the best Netflix shows, in my opinion! 🙂 Tell me: what do you think the best Netflix shows are?!
