It feels unreal even typing this, but it’s true – I’ll be 30 this March. Most days, I still feel like I’m a teenager or early 20-something, so the realization of moving into a new decade is a bit shocking. I guess on the upside, at least I don’t feel old! With that said, I thought it would be fun to talk about the good part about birthdays, no matter what age we’re turning – our birthday wish list! I’m really not that high-maintenance, but I have learned over the years that I prefer quality over quantity, which means when I do want something, it tends to be on the pricey side. 🙂 Fortunately, most of my wants this year are practical – keep reading to see what an almost 30-year-old mom wants for her birthday (aside from a good night’s sleep!).

New Bed + Bedding
We’ve been talking about upgrading to a King bed for a while now, but it’s just such a big investment all at once since we need a mattress, new bed frame and new bedding! We’ve been tossing around the idea of ordering one of the many bed in a box options like Purple, Terra Somna, Casper, etc. But I also have to admit that my most favorite mattress ever is the one that Hilton hotels uses in their rooms, I think it’s by Serta. I also want to switch over to white bedding with a down comforter.
Beautycounter Products
I tried Beautycounter for the first time in December and really liked the products. I got a trial size of the Counter Control cleanser and spot treatment and would love to give the full regimen a try – especially since pregnancy always causes me a lot of breakout issues. I’ve also heard amazing things about the No. 3 Balancing Face Mask and Overnight Resurfacing Peel, so they went on my birthday wish list as well!
Workout Apparel
I always have workout clothes on my list, whether it’s for my birthday or Christmas. It’s really the one thing I never seem to have enough of…or maybe I just need to be better about doing laundry! Either way, I added flowy tanks and these maternity workout leggings to my list this year so I’ll have a few things that work throughout pregnancy.
New Pots + Pans
We are in desperate need of a new set of pots and pans – the ones we got for our wedding have made it pretty far, but they’ve seen better days! I would love to try stainless steel this time instead of non-stick. Bonus points for a set that is dishwasher-safe, because that’s the dream!
Tory Burch Miller Sandals
I have a tan pair of these sandals that I purchased during my first pregnancy and they are literally still hanging on – so they’re pretty much 5 years old at this point. They’ve definitely seen better days and I’m anxiously awaiting the day they fall apart, so ideally, I’ll get another pair before that happens! They’re all I wear in the summer, especially while pregnant!
Designer Maternity Jeans
This may be one of those frivolous purchases, but I’ve never had a real pair of nice maternity jeans. I’ve always hesitated in spending a lot on maternity clothes since you can only wear them a limited amount of time, but I wear jeans a lot more often now that I’m chasing two kids around so these would get plenty of use! I’ve heard good things about both Madewell and 7 for All Mankind maternity jeans.
Young Living Essential Oils
I have been resisting the urge to get into essential oils for a while now, but I got to play around with my mom’s set recently and have a few friends who use them religiously so I’m slowly coming around to them. I’ve definitely been shifting our lifestyle to a more natural one, in terms of cleaning, beauty and food products, so essential oils just make sense. I’m also open to anything that can keep my kids well and help them get better quickly if they do get sick!
Glass Storage Containers
Such a boring thing for a birthday wish list, I know! Unless you’re a foodie like me. 🙂 I haven’t been the best at it lately, but I’m all about meal prep, so I’d love to have some glass storage to keep cut-up veggies and fruit and premade lunches in for the week.
Anything from IKEA
Okay, maybe not anything. But we do want to get new Hemnes dressers for our bedroom (to go with the new bed when we ever get it!). My oldest daughter has one and we all love it. Spacious and the drawers open and close so smoothly. I’d also doctor them up a bit with one of these templates and new drawer pulls. I also want a new sofa cover for our Ektorp sectional – we’ve had this sofa for 3+ years and I think I’ve washed and dried the slipcovers one too many times so they’ve shrunk and made it hard to take them off and put them back on.
Honorable mentions on my birthday wish list: a Tory Burch purse, new Ray-Bans, Capri Blue Volcano candles, velvet clothes hangers, fridge organization containers, and a Le Creuset Cast Iron Dutch Oven.
