With Brynn’s first birthday coming up in 3 days, I️ realized it may be time to share her (mostly) completed mint green nursery! To be honest, each child we’ve had has slept in our room a bit longer than the previous kid, so I️ had no real rush to finish the room.

We did paint the room when we moved in, so that aspect was complete early on. The furniture was also set up, and months after we moved in, I️ realized there was really no reason we hadn’t finished the room – except for the fact she wasn’t sleeping in there yet. At some point, I️ decided it was time to wrap the project up, and I️ finally took all of these photos to share with you!

Our Mint Green Nursery
So, fun fact: in our first house, our oldest daughter had a mint green nursery as well! We actually intended to paint her bedroom in our second home a mint green color, but somehow, we accidentally chose a color that was more blue than green. I️ blame the fact I️ had a toddler, was pregnant, and had just completed a 900-mile move to a new city! Anyways, we loved that original mint green color so much that I️ knew I️ wanted to use that as inspiration for Brynn’s nursery in our new home in Charlotte.

Luckily, picking out a mint green color turned out better this time and overall, I️’m pleased with the end result. I️ will say I️ preferred the original mint green paint from our first nursery, but I️ cannot for the life of me remember what the name of the paint was!

Nursery Design and Decor

I️ actually didn’t buy anything in terms of furniture or decor this time around. Between our first and second daughters, we really had everything we needed to put together a nursery for Brynn. I️ will say that we invested in quality nursery bedding from Pottery Barn Kids with our first daughter, and fortunately, that has paid off big time – we’ve used it with all three girls and it’s still in mint condition! As an aside, we all know that using crib bumpers are risky for babies – I️ opted to get them because they were ‘pretty,’ but now wish we hadn’t bothered since we haven’t used them at all. That’s one of those things you live and learn about as a first-time mom! I️ literally used them to take photos of the nursery and then they sit in the closet collecting dust. haha. We do use these breathable bumpers to prevent baby’s arms and legs from going through the crib slats.

I️ pieced together the nursery furnishings by shopping at different stores. I️ think we found the crib at Target or Walmart and the dresser was a Target find (similar) when we had our second daughter, since her nursery was too small for the IKEA Hemnes dresser my oldest has. I️ would suggest always going for the Hemnes dresser when possible, though – it’s been our favorite IKEA purchase and we have one in our master bedroom now, too! I️ remember finding the nightstand on a trip to HomeGoods and the decor is a mix of Hobby Lobby, Target and Etsy.

The only new piece in the nursery is this Lollipop baby camera and monitor, which the Lollipop team kindly sent me to try! I️ love the various installation options and the fact I️ can keep an eye on Brynn with the app on my smartphone. Let’s be real, if you’ve ever played the game of ‘where’s the baby monitor?’ that your kids misplaced before naptime or bedtime, you’ll appreciate being able to use your phone to check on baby!

Having three girls has proven to be very cost-effective when it comes to nursery decor, since we’ve been able to reuse everything! I️ love the way our mint green nursery turned out for our third baby girl. I️ can hardly believe she will be one in a few days! Time surely flies.
