Since we’ll be headed out on a Spring Break trip soon, I thought I’d pop in to share a few healthy clean eating snacks that we’re taking along for the ride. I love traveling but one of the hardest parts is maintaining a healthy diet while on the road or in the air with limited options available. It can be very limiting while flying especially, since some airports are lacking in healthy options. Bringing your own clean eating snacks is usually the best way to ensure you’re on the right track, of course – which is what we’re doing this time around! I’ve never really prepped this well for travel in the past, but I’m going to be sitting in a car for 13+ hours and don’t want to eat anything unhealthy just because I failed to plan – and also don’t want to feel lethargic all day! Here are some things I’m bringing on our trip for all of us to snack on:
Clean Eating Snack Ideas
We usually grab a bag of trail mix from Costco before trips, but I really wanted something that wasn’t loaded with sodium and had a bit more variety – so I decided to make my own this time! We had a bag of walnuts from Costco already, so I picked up peanuts, pumpkin seeds, and banana chips from the bulk section at Sprouts and added some dark chocolate and raisins to pull this mix together. And since my kids are a bit picky and won’t eat all the clean eating, Paleo-friendly snacks I’m packing – I added a few things to the list for them that aren’t too bad overall. The goal is to make snacking as healthy as possible but not push their limits since we have a loooong drive ahead of us! I’m packing pouches of organic Greek yogurt, applesauce and Fruigees (FYI – use code bestmom36 for 25% off your order at fruigees.com!), Goldfish and graham crackers for the girls to snack on.
