We’re officially down to the wire – Christmas is coming up in THREE days! I don’t where the time went, all I know is it flew by way too quickly. If you’re like me, you probably had great intentions of having every single thing ready by now – gifts purchased and wrapped, house cleaned and holiday meal prep completed – but in reality, you’re still running around in a panic to get things done. Or maybe you’re NOT like me and you’re 100% done – which is something to be proud of!

Either way, I wanted to pop in to share a quick, last-minute gift idea that’s perfect for just about anyone – teachers, mail carriers, family, friends, neighbors. Can’t go wrong with this little idea!
We actually made these Snowmen Mason Jars for Blair’s teachers this year. I admit I’m usually that mom who realizes at the last minute I haven’t gotten gifts for teachers around the holidays and pop into Starbucks for some gift cards…but this year, I planned out gift ideas ahead for once! They are so easy to make, super cute and you probably even have most of the supplies on hand already.
Snowman Mason Jars
Materials Needed
- Mason Jars
- Black Buttons
- Plaid Ribbon
- Thin Ribbon or Baker’s Twine
- Hot Glue Gun
- Hershey’s Kisses (silver foil only) – I used a 40-ounce bag of Kisses and was able to make three jars with enough leftover Kisses for a batch of Peanut Butter Blossoms. I probably could have made one or two more snowman jars with the leftovers if I needed to!
- Printable Gift Tags – I somewhat followed this tutorial for the jars and used her printable gift tags.
Step ONE – Using your hot glue gun, glue three buttons in a vertical row on each jar.
Step TWO – Enlist a helper to fill the jars to the top with Kisses…and make sure they don’t eat them all. 😉
Step THREE – Put the lids back on the jars, then using baker’s twine or thin ribbon, tie the gift tag around the mouth of the jars.
Step FOUR – Measure and cut your plaid ribbon for each jar, then tie them around the mouth of the jar and adjust until it looks like a scarf. I used wire ribbon because it’s what I had on hand, and I like how it was easy to position it and keep in place!
Voila! Such an easy gift idea and something that the recipient can use again next Christmas to decorate with or use it to display holiday candy!
