I’ve never considered myself a makeup pro, but I do love when I find the holy grail of makeup products that work well! I have my easy makeup routine down to a science now, which is great because my kids give me about 0.5 seconds to get ready in the morning. 😉
I rotate my makeup products from time to time, thanks to awesome recommendations from beauty bloggers I follow (one of my faves is Lindsey Regan Thorne). Say what you will about bloggers these days, but I’ve found so many clothing/beauty/home/kid/etc. products thanks to their real-life recommendations. Remember when we had to resort to magazines like Cosmo and Shape for all of our beauty, style and fitness advice? I personally love hearing from real people before I make a purchase decision…which brings me to the topic of this post, my easy makeup routine and favorite products. To be honest, I’ve shopped the high-end makeup products (I used to spend SO much at Sephora!) but I keep going back to my drugstore makeup favorites – so most of these are fairly inexpensive and work well!
Neutrogena Hydroboost Gel Eye Cream – I switched to this recently and I love how moisturizing it is. I use it at night before bed and in the morning just before I apply my undereye concealer (per the recommendation of a Sephora team member).
Clinique Moisture Surge Hydrator – This has been in my makeup bag for years because I have the worst combination skin! I have oily skin around my t-zone but the rest of my face dries out so badly and this is the only thing that can keep my skin properly hydrated without causing breakouts.
It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Illumination Concealer – This stuff is a miracle worker! I just started using it in May and I’ll never go back to another undereye concealer. I should’ve listened to every beauty blogger over the past few years because this is the ultimate undereye concealer. If you have kids and don’t get any sleep, you need this. 🙂
Makeupdrop Makeup Applicator – I actually got this in a FabFitFun box and it sat unopened in my bathroom drawer for a while. When I got the It Cosmetics undereye concealer, I decided to give it a try and it really makes concealer go on easily and evenly.
Elf Cosmetics Concealer – This is probably the cheapest makeup I own, but I’ve found it to be as good as more expensive drugstore options. I’ve never purchased any high-end regular concealer to be honest, so I don’t know how it compares to something like Tarte Shape Tape – but it gets the job done and it’s like $3!
Bare Minerals Original Loose Powder Foundation – I’ve been using Bare Minerals since high school and it continues to be my favorite. I’ve dabbled in using liquid foundation, but it always causes breakouts and I prefer the more natural look of loose powder. It works for me year-round and lasts forever!
NARS Orgasm Blush – I’ve used this for years and it continues to be my all-time favorite blush. It stays put and adds natural, subtle color. This color is my second favorite.
L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara – This is the best dupe for Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara and it’s a fraction of the cost! I love how it volumizes and lengthens my lashes.
Covergirl Peacock Flare Mascara – I tend to rotate my mascaras from time to time – Covergirl sent me a tube of this mascara last fall to try and I’ve since purchased it 3-4 more times. I would say this is a close second to L’Oreal Lash Paradise.
Maybelline Total Temptation Brow Definer – This is a new favorite that I’ve added to my easy makeup routine. I’ve used several different brow products but this one seems to work the best! I like the angled pencil – it helps apply the product more accurately. It also has a brush on the other end to blend the pencil in. I’ve used gel/powder before, but I’ve found it harder to apply the color evenly with a brush.
Maybelline Define-A-Line Eyeliner – I’ve used this since high school, too! For the most part, I think pencil eyeliners are relatively the same, but if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it, right? It’s also really inexpensive!
Urban Decay Naked II Palette – Pretty much everyone is familiar with these palettes – they’re a cult favorite. I’ve had mine forever and still haven’t used all of it! I kind of want to snag I & III, too.
