Love IKEA like I do? Well then, I’ve got a fun post for you filled with my favorite IKEA products! For a long time, we didn’t live anywhere near an IKEA store and had to drive 4+ hours to get there. The very first piece of furniture we bought for our first apartment together was an IKEA TV console and it brings back memories! The next IKEA purchase we made was a Hemnes dresser for our oldest daughter’s nursery and that’s really when our love for IKEA was solidified.
Now that we have an IKEA 15 minutes from our house (yes, it’s amazing.), we go a lot more frequently and it’s probably apparent when you walk in our house. 🙂 I will point out that I definitely lean on the more traditional side of home decor, so I’m very picky about what I’ll buy from IKEA since a lot of their products are overly modern. So, if you’re into traditional, (very light on the) farmhouse, Martha Stewart-esque decor, you’ll probably like my favorite IKEA products, too!
1 – Hemnes 8-Drawer Dresser
This dresser is so spacious and the drawers open and close so smoothly. We bought one for Blair’s nursery and love it so much that we’ve been considering buying the 8-drawer and 5-drawer dressers for our bedroom! Easily one of our favorite IKEA products. We changed out the hardware to make my daughter’s dresser more girly and if we do decide to get them for us, I’d totally get one of these dresser overlay kits to dress it up.
2 – Kallax Storage Shelves
We have one of these in Blair’s room and a larger one upstairs in the playroom that doubles as toy storage and a TV stand. We could actually use a few more of these around the house because they’re perfect for hiding toys and keeping our house somewhat clean. 😉
3 – Hemnes Console Table
We held onto our very first IKEA TV console for the first 5 years of our marriage but it really had to go…it was much too small for our current living room and I wanted something taller, too. I had been eyeing the Hemnes Console Table to use as our entertainment console for a while and we finally bit the bullet in January of this year and I love it!
4 – Ribba Photo Frames
These are the best photo frames and look much more expensive than they actually are. I’ve framed prints I purchased on places like Etsy and given these as gifts to several people over the years and the quality is great. We have several of these sprinkled throughout our home and I really want to get more to create a gallery wall in our living room.
5 – Proppmatt Chopping Board
This was a total impulse purchase, since we really didn’t NEED any more cutting boards. However, I love this particular board and it looks nice sitting on our countertop when not in use. Make sure you grab the wood treatment oil, too – we did not and our cutting board has seen better days!
6 – Knipsa Storage Baskets
These wicker baskets really dress up the Hemnes Console Table and provide storage for all of our DVD and Blu-Rays beneath the TV. I chose these because the color matched our other living room furniture perfectly, but IKEA has other wicker basket options, too, and they all look nice.
7 – Drona Storage Boxes
These boxes are SUPER inexpensive and are perfect for kids rooms and playrooms. They come in a variety of colors, which is great for your little ones. Despite how cheap they are, they’ve held up well – the ones in my daughter’s room have lasted 4 years and counting.
8 – Ektorp Sectional
We actually purchased this sectional over 4 years ago for our living room and have never looked back! I wanted a white sofa but knew I needed something I could wash regularly, so this was the ideal option for us. It’s not only super comfortable, but so easy to unzip the covers and wash as needed. I waited almost 4 years to actually bleach the covers (I used to only use Oxiclean), but now I wish I’d been doing it all along since it looks practically new again.
9 – Antilop High Chair
We have a fancy Chicco high chair that we got for our oldest daughter but it gets SO messy and there are way too many crevices to keep clean. We needed to have a second high chair when our littlest started eating solids, so we snagged this IKEA high chair for under $20 and it’s been the best investment ever. Sure, it’s just plastic and not “cozy” by any means, but it gets the job done and is super easy to clean. It’s also less of an eyesore since it’s a neutral color and doesn’t take up much space.
10 – Bekvam Spice Racks
We bought these to create the bookshelves we’ve all seen all over Pinterest. We first used them in our oldest daughter’s first nursery (in our old house) and we brought them with us to put back up in our new house. We also made more for our youngest’s nursery since they’re economical and functional. This is among the best of the best IKEA hacks I’ve found!
11 – Latt Kids’ Table and Chairs Set
My parents bought this set for the girls two Christmases ago and it is WELL worth the $30! To be honest, my girls bring the chairs in our living room and sit around the coffee table more than they sit at the kid table, but they still love the little table when they’re playing in kitchen area. Also, we followed another IKEA hack here by adding foam cushion and fabric upholstery to the chairs to make them more comfortable and cute!
I love the White Sofa, and having it with the custom slip covers is a great idea. Thanks for sharing.
You’re welcome! It’s been great to have with little ones running around!
I just hung the spice racks as book shelves in our new nursery. Such a great hack, especially for small spaces. I love that sectional too. How perfect for children to be able to wash the slipcover. I’ll definitely do a slipcover the next time around.
Aren’t they the best?! I love having the cutest little books displayed in their rooms – it really adds to the decor 🙂 Also, the sectional is actually really comfortable – I always get the corner spot though so I’m biased!
