Festive Christmas Kitchen Decor | Holiday Home Tour

December 2, 2020 Comments : 6

This week, I️’m joining some of my favorite bloggers to share our holiday home tours! While I️ have most certainly decked all of the halls in my home, I️ wanted to focus on our festive Christmas kitchen decor in this post, as it’s probably my favorite holiday decor.

I️ was inspired years ago to put holiday wreaths on all of my kitchen cabinets, and finally decided to go for it in 2017. I️ did a little DIY kitchen wreath project for the holidays then and haven’t looked back! I️ still put these mini wreaths up every holiday season (which starts early in my house…November 1st!). My wreaths are the focal point of my Christmas kitchen decor and give the room a cozy vibe.

We’ve made it a goal to put a Christmas tree in every room, so last year, we picked up a pencil tree for the corner of our breakfast nook. We collect Starbucks ornaments, and this is the perfect tree to display our entire collection!

I️ am definitely a fan of more traditional Christmas kitchen decor, so I️ like playing up the red, white and green in this room. We’ve been eyeing one of these classic ceramic Christmas trees for a while – it’s such a nostalgic item for us, since our families had them when we were growing up. We finally got one this year and it fits perfectly on our kitchen counter. We also have this cute advent calendar that the girls love – it has magnetic ornaments that decorate the tree as you count down to Christmas each day!

I️ like to hang a wreath on our back porch door, and this year, I️ picked up a fresh wreath rather than use an artificial one. I like how this looks with our Christmas kitchen decor!

Our kitchen table decor is simple, yet still festive. We actually do a lot of our work from this table right now rather than the office to keep an eye on the girls, so I️ didn’t want to add too much clutter here. My parents gave us this candle carousel several Christmases ago, and I️ love it because it reminds me of when I️ was a child and we had a similar one at home. The girls love watching it spin when the candles are lit!

One thing I️ haven’t done yet is find wreaths for the backs of my bar stools and kitchen table chairs – I️ love this look for the holidays and it’s on my to-do list! I️ actually saw a tutorial from someone who used command hooks to hang their wreaths on the back of the chairs – so simple!

I have been seeing the mini wreaths on so many people’s cabinets and do love how they look but have yet to actually give it a try myself.

A little glimpse of what’s most important in lif A little glimpse of what’s most important in life - family, togetherness, snuggles ❤️ I’ll be honest and say that running a business takes a lot out of you, and some days I question whether it’s worth it. There is another business that has been out to get me since I started, and yesterday they tried to win. I all but gave up yesterday. It just didn’t feel worth it to put up a fight when I could go back to my ‘old’ life of being a mom, blogger, and freelance writer (all 3 of which I’ve sucked at since starting my charcuterie biz). I felt guilty for spending 6 months of my life growing a business and then letting it fall apart. I felt guilty for all the time spent away from my family because I was so busy and could barely keep up. And then I remembered why I was so busy, it’s because people appreciate my work and love what I do. I built a brand that people respect and all of that hard work is most definitely worth it when I see how far I’ve come in the past 6 months. This is a reminder for all of us to never give up and never let the enemy win. ❤️

I joke about it being a ‘dumpster fire,’ but I have appreciated all of the extra time at home with my family, not feeling the pressure to always be on the go and of course, launching my business @somethingbleuclt! ✨ I hope you have time for a moment to reflect on your year and find the good moments and hold onto those memories ❤️
