When it comes to my makeup routine, I tend to stick with the ‘usual’. What can I say…when I find something I like, I tend to stay with it! However, I was offered an opportunity to try out some of Mary Kay’s popular cosmetics and I was pleasantly surprised that I actually liked a majority of it and would use it again.

Here’s what I received from Mary Kay:
1) Mary Kay Lash Primer – I really liked this, and definitely noticed that my lashes were fuller and stayed separated as I was applying mascara! I’d definitely consider buying this in the future.
2) Mary Kay Lash Love Lengthening Mascara – I’m SUPER picky about mascara…I’ve been using the same brand for probably 4 years now, so I wasn’t expecting to like this new mascara. I was really impressed with it, and my lashes were noticeably longer. I’m sure the primer that I applied helped, too!
3) Mary Kay Cream Eye Color – Truthfully, I’ve never really liked cream eye shadow…it always seems to crease after a while. The cream eye color that I received was a plum color, and I really don’t wear purple-colored eye shadow because most of the time it makes you look like you have a black eye. Just saying. So I can’t really write a good review of this one since I didn’t actually wear it!
4) Mary Kay Eye Shadow/Concealer Brush – I like to use ‘nice’ makeup brushes, so I definitely liked this one. I usually use BareMinerals makeup brushes, but this one was good quality, so I’ll definitely keep using it!
5) Mary Kay True Dimensions Lipstick – I’m really not a lipstick person at all…I much prefer lip gloss. I tried a little bit of this on just to test it out, and I actually didn’t mind it. It’s a pretty bright pink color, so I would definitely err on the light side when applying it, and I’d wear a gloss over top of it, too. If you do like to wear lipstick, I’d definitely recommend it!
Mary Kay products are definitely more pricey than most cosmetics you’ll find at Target or the drugstore, but they’re really high-quality. I tend to splurge on my makeup, too, since I tend to do my cosmetics shopping at Sephora…there’s just something to be said about little luxuries, right? 😉
