Was it just me, or did October fly by?! I just realized I haven’t really wrapped up our home tour yet and the last room I shared feels like forever ago! Today, it’s all about sweet Blakely’s nursery. I knew I wanted a totally different design scheme for her room, even though I really like Blair’s decor too. I was going for a classic girly look, but I didn’t want pink walls. I made the mistake of painting my bathroom bubblegum pink when I was in high school and I regretted it almost instantly…so I’ve learned to stay away from pink paint.
But coral, now that’s a different story. I fell in love with this color in Sherwin-Williams and couldn’t wait to paint the nursery. Not to mention, I was 30 weeks pregnant before we even got around to actually painting…which was super stressful for a Type A personality like me. 😉
I knew I wanted to incorporate simple, feminine decor and some gold accents, which I knew would pop against the coral walls. Pretty much all of the furniture (minus the dresser) and bedding was Blair’s…perks of having two girls! I found some cute wall art from Hobby Lobby, HomeGoods and Etsy and an adorable geometric gold lamp from Target to complete the look. I still need something on the wall beside or behind the glider – I’m thinking of a print like this showcasing Blakely’s birth details. 🙂
