New Home, New Decor

I have so many ideas and my mind is overflowing with things that “need” to be done, but in reality, I’ll just be happy to move IN to our new house…..NEXT WEEK! Our closing date is next Friday, September 20th, and I couldn’t be more excited. I remember reading that the home-buying process can be a headache – and that’s certainly no lie! There’s just so many steps involved and so much paperwork to complete…but that’s almost over with finally. In a week, we’ll have the keys to our brand new first home!

So let’s discuss my favorite part of buying a house: decorating. 🙂 I had taken a hiatus from Pinterest after our wedding, but my addiction is back in full force, this time looking for home decor ideas! We’d been looking (okay, more like I’d been looking) for a white/off-white classic sofa for the living room for months now, to no avail. Lo and behold, while on our OBX vacation, we stumbled upon an upscale consignment shop, The Loft. I was on the hunt for end tables, but M pointed out a really nice sofa that looked almost brand new. And it was off-white. #score. The owner of the shop said it had literally just been brought in, and the lady who owned it had literally just purchased it for her rental cottage then decided white was a horrible idea for the beach, so she decided to sell it. We decided we couldn’t pass it up…so we have an (almost) new sofa for our new home! I have plenty of ideas of how I want to decorate the living room, and most of those ideas came directly from Pinterest. Here is our new couch:
