I can hardly believe my baby will be four this weekend. Everyone likes to tell you they grow too fast, but it really is true – even though I try not to dwell on it! She is growing up to be such a funny, intelligent little lady and while she can be incredibly girly (hence the Pinkalicious theme!), she also doesn’t mind playing outside, being a daredevil and almost giving me a heart attack on a regular basis. 😉
But, back to Pinkalicious…I actually thought about this theme a while back because of how much she loves the show and books. We sat down together and started picking out fun ideas on Pinterest and that’s when I knew this was the right party theme for her.
If you remember my post on Blakely’s Pineapple Party, I talked about how challenging it was to find pineapple-themed party decor. Well, it turns out this is the year of hard-to-find party supplies…because the Pinkalicious party has been just as challenging. Apparently, Pinkalicious was super popular about 8-10 years ago(!) and is just now resurfacing because of the PBS TV show that started this year – so, finding Pinkalicious party decor is pretty much impossible. Luckily, it’s not very hard to pull this idea together – with enough pink decor, anything is possible. 🙂 I also found lots of inspiration on Pinterest from other mamas who threw a Pinkalicious party for their little ones. Below, I’m sharing a few photos of where I’m pulling my inspiration.
For the most part, the decor is straightforward and I think it will be easy to pull this idea off! The biggest challenge at this point is the cake…I asked Whole Foods to make a cake like the blue one in the bottom right corner of the collage above and while I love their cakes, I’m nervous about the final design. Here’s to hoping it turns out!
You can check out all of my Pinkalicious party ideas on Pinterest – and of course, stay tuned because I’ll be back to share the final details after this weekend’s party and where I found all of my party supplies!
