The Laundry Hack You Need To Know

May 20, 2020 Comments : 8

This post has been sponsored by 2ULaundry, but all thoughts and opinions are my own

Let me preface this post by saying I️’ve always been the type that dislikes the thought of outsourcing, mainly because I️ feel like I️’m capable and I️ won’t have to spend money if I️ do it myself. However, with three young kids, I️ started to find it hard to complete certain tasks around the house as easily as I️ used to…namely, the laundry. The actual washing part isn’t that tricky – it’s the folding and putting away part. Especially since my kids change their clothes several times a day (even though we tell them not to) and that makes a LOT of tiny clothes to wash, dry and fold!

The Time-Saving Laundry Hack You Need to Know

I️ posted an IG Story a while back talking about my dislike for folding laundry and many of you guys suggested using a laundry service to outsource this task. To be honest, I️ had not heard of any of these services in Memphis, but when we moved to Charlotte, I️ learned about 2ULaundry. Several friends had mentioned a laundry hack called 2ULaundry and I️ was intrigued – so when the team reached out to me to try their laundry services, I️ said absolutely! I️ wanted to share a bit about my experience with you guys, in case you’re like me and need a nudge in the right direction to outsource some tasks.

Laundry Hack: My Experience with 2ULaundry

First, I️ created an account on the 2ULaundry site and then selected the bags I️ wanted. There are two sizes of Wash, Dry, Fold bags, a Hang Dry bag, a Dry Clean Bag, and a Linens bag. Each bag has a flat rate, so you can fill the bags as full as you’d like (trust me, we packed ours FULL). The 2ULaundry team hand-delivered the bags right to my doorstep, along with a door hanger for any dry clean or hang dry items. I️ was able to select my preferences for our laundry, including hypoallergenic detergent, fabric softener and starch preferences for dry cleaning.

The Time-Saving Laundry Hack You Need to Know

Using the app, I️ scheduled a pick up date for my laundry. I️ was impressed with the ability to schedule a pickup just a day or two out and the fact that 2ULaundry returns your clean clothing within one business day. On the pickup day, I️ put the full bags of dirty laundry on the front porch by 8am and a 2ULaundry driver came by and picked them up within a few hours. They also stay in touch with you via text and provide updates when they’re on the way to pick up and drop off your clothing.

The next day, the 2ULaundry driver dropped off our bags of clean and folded laundry right at our door. I️ loved how neatly folded each item was, especially the kids’ clothing (I️ don’t know about you, but I️ find it hard to fold baby clothing neatly sometimes because it’s so tiny). It was such a relief to just take the bag upstairs and put the clothes away rather than have to fold a mountain of laundry! To put it into perspective, we had an existing mountain of laundry on the floor that needed to be folded and it was still waiting to be folded in the time 2ULaundry picked up and returned the bags of my girls’ clothes. To say we despise doing laundry around here is an understatement! 🙂

The Time-Saving Laundry Hack You Need to Know

Currently, 2ULaundry services the greater Charlotte area. You can enter your location on the site to see if 2ULaundry is in your specific area. You can sign up using my referral code Boyce 3129 for a $20 credit toward your first order!

Laundry Time-Saving Tips

Even if you don’t have 2ULaundry in your area, I️ highly recommend outsourcing your laundry to a service provider near you. It gives me a lot of time back in my day, plus I️ don’t have piles of laundry sitting around, waiting to be folded and put away! At a minimum, creating a laundry schedule can help you get your laundry under control (especially if you have a big family and lots of clothes to wash – I️ follow one like this). My best laundry hack: always try to fold clothes as soon as they come out of the dryer, to prevent wrinkling and just to knock the task out. For us, putting clothes on the floor or bed to fold at a later time means it will sit there for a LONG time!

Well, this is amazing. How have I never heard of this?? Like you, I don’t mind the washing but the folding and putting away stinks. I think I might try this! Thank you for sharing.

Yes, it’s life-changing, I️ swear! I️ didn’t even realize it was such a common ‘thing’ to have a wash, dry, fold service, but most areas have them!

This service sounds amazing. I agree on outsourcing but sometimes for certain stages of life, it is nice to have the help.

Agreed! I️’ve been more open to outsourcing now that we have 3 kids – there’s just not enough time in the day to do everything!

A little glimpse of what’s most important in lif A little glimpse of what’s most important in life - family, togetherness, snuggles ❤️ I’ll be honest and say that running a business takes a lot out of you, and some days I question whether it’s worth it. There is another business that has been out to get me since I started, and yesterday they tried to win. I all but gave up yesterday. It just didn’t feel worth it to put up a fight when I could go back to my ‘old’ life of being a mom, blogger, and freelance writer (all 3 of which I’ve sucked at since starting my charcuterie biz). I felt guilty for spending 6 months of my life growing a business and then letting it fall apart. I felt guilty for all the time spent away from my family because I was so busy and could barely keep up. And then I remembered why I was so busy, it’s because people appreciate my work and love what I do. I built a brand that people respect and all of that hard work is most definitely worth it when I see how far I’ve come in the past 6 months. This is a reminder for all of us to never give up and never let the enemy win. ❤️
